one. two. three. TWENNY-four. yup, tis the day i turned the big two-four. eew-eth. (blurting that for the nth time)
call me weird, but i've always been in denial. i hate adding a year to my age. i can't suck the fact that i'm a year older. ('cos it doesn't necessarily mean that i'm wiser... just kidding!)
basta, i'm just weird this way. and it'd take some time before i finally acknowledge that i am 24. bente quatro. 2-4. 24. twenty-four. 24. (only to realize that the year's over. haha.) honestly, i don't feel that i am anywhere in my 20's. isip-bata? hmm. child-like pwede pa. should i start acting my age? depends.
come on, kaka-birthday ko pa lang diba? haha. so pagbigyan niyo nako... BUT i hope you'd keep an open mind before your temperatures rise on me... i'm grateful for such a day. i'm thankful that God gave me another year to live and experience. i feel so blessed, having a bunch of people remember the 1st of APRIL. other it being april fools'.
mababaw lang akong tao. i'm easy to please. thanks to everyone who greeted me. you've somehow shared this day with me ^.^ yes, i know i said that this day was "just like any ordinary day, if not for the fact that i intermittently get birthday messages etc." thanks for bringing the message across. thanks for your kind gestures. they're sweet altogether. promise! thanks for making me feel special. and loved at that:) i deeply appreciate each and every one of them... no matter how simple or "insignificant" it may seem. para sakin, malaking bagay na yon:)
i need not enumerate right? basta, i thank everyone who remembered this day. and i'm stretching these grateful arms to those who went the "extra mile". >:D< i know that i need to make "bawi" cos this day was rather uneventful. but i'm sealing the night with a blissful spirit. because i felt so blessed having these people around. plus i'm assured that God has better promises ahead of me.
i'm excited. oooh better, i'm elated! ;D forget that i ever hated slating another year in my existence...
creds: since i forgot to take some snaps as proof of THE DAY. that clip was taken last December.. haha.
Bum-ber days and beyond...
this is the life. for now. i'm spending my 15th day or about a couple of weeks++ of bumhood. (FYI: got out of work last March 9th.)
yup, i said bye-bye to my hectic days at work, been at it for 2 years and plus plus months. and HELLLOOO to infinite hours of sleep. maxing my waking hours... "productively". how? hmmm. (1) by turning my brain into mush: spending endless hours on dvd marathon, and/or (2) catching up with series i've missed, alternating it with (3) meaningful time spent by hitting the books for my "literary" thirst. AND IF THAT'S NOT ENOUGH. i've pretty much (4) ate to my heart's content. (hello, weight gain?!? ohgahd, no!).... so much for "reflecting-slash-soul-searching" right there. yes, i so know what's running in your silly minds. i would definitely get my act together. just give me this month-long indulgence to keep my sanity. i'm sure you'd say, "she definitely needs this breather" if you know what i've been through. (overworked is an understatement.)
i'm so loving this.. and that's what counts come sundown...
and if it doesn't get any better. my fab bum-ber days are shared with "numerous" eaglets right there. nothing beats sweet time with mi familia! talk about purrr-fect timing. ^^
and yes, we're sort of rekindling our then-summer days. when we used to lounge at each other's houses. ransack the fridge of whatevers-left. talk endlessly about anything-under-the-sun. critique on the nitty-gritty details of our "favorite shows". then bade adieu. only to find ourselves do the same things the next day. and days after that...
simple as things are. i'm grateful that i'm given the chance to savor such a sweet time. and i thank God that He gave room for me to cope with QTT with my fab family. yes, i know how it feels to be a bum (right about now).. and it does seem so liberating. but this is so not going to be a permanent thing for me. promise.
creds: photos and the stories behind 'em. above-> babysis, me, and mai sharing scoops of strawberry ice cream from tekie's stint. (yes, it's blurry) then-> "sisters" living the life. we've never been this complete in ages! waiting for the "house" re-run. mai. babysis. midsy. lai. and tekie (poses?)
shoutouts to: boinky, who shows up every now and then. mikky, welcome to the club! taking the breather before medschool. ayos:D boo and pampy for showing up once. do more than one okay? so where in the world is... ram? (still in school? probably. or is just so stuck at home.) do you guys still remember kakay? who the hell is she? oh snap, WHERE the hell is she pala?!? how about our boys?
i heart my cousins... to pieces :*
| | 14-16.march 2008 boracay island, aklan
virginal experience for me and my sisters. rowie's second. and the tagles' umpteenth visit to the powdery white shores... our first take at traveling (minus the folks).
laidback things done.. a fun take. summer kicks in.
i love living this "liberating" life. bum-ber days... here i come:) |
| | 14th of march. sunny sunny friday. the day we arrived at boracay.
virginal experience for me and my sisters. rowie's second. and the tagles' umpteenth visit to the powdery white shores... our first take at traveling (minus the folks).
laidback things done on day one. most of her snaps where blended with mine. in the succeeding albums. a fun take. summer kicks in.
i love living this "liberating" life. bum-ber days... here i come:) |
| | 14-16.march 2008. boracay island, aklan. the arrival.
long-planned trip. i thought i can never join in. thank God for sudden turn of events :) celebrating "liberation" a few days. out of work. traveling with my sisters (minus our folks) after x number of years.
pretty fun experience. tons of retail therapy. i heart shopping. most definitely. spur-of-the-moment "trekking" and getting "dressed" for it. riding the sails. the paraw style. watch the sunset by the sea. business opportunities for a friend. hmmm. pretty neat idea right there. mingling with some locals. small talk goes a long long way.
day one was about life by the beach. anything and everything that happens in between. |
| | 14-16.march 2008 boracay island, aklan. bye-bye to beach life.
talk about short-lived vacay. three days. gone that fast? hmmm. if it weren't for day two's grueling but fun activities. all i have of bora's memory would be about shopping and nothing more.
and yes, if it weren't enough. spent my last few hours still doing that. hmmm. i heart it soo much even if it meant denting my finances. bleh. tough luck. i had to leave a couple of hours earlier just so i could catch the 3pm flight. soo much unfinished business. :/
i vowed to be back.
and i'm definitely seeing those starking white shores and the natives' sunny smiles again. the question is when...
thank God for the experience. though virginal and all that. i know i've been to better beaches. but "meeting" bora in a different light was a good take at traveling. it was a bit curt that's all. i sooo wanna go back (had i already said that???)
first shot at traveling with my sisters, and close family friends. did learn a lot. had tons of realizations.
... i'm definitely a traveler. |
| | 14-16. march 2008. boracay island, aklan the oh-so-strenuous day.
talk about jampacked!!! think of every water activity possible and cram it in just one day. yup, that's what you call tripping. from sun up to sundown. talk about maximum human strength. and we are so cut out for it huh?
island hopping. snorkeling made more challenging, thanks for the big waves. spelunking in a sense. 'cos we visited "caves". would've been fun taking a dip there if it weren't for the intimidating current. thanks to the strong winds.
foodfest. seafoodfest for lunch. thanks to manong jun, the banker(o) turned cook:) squishing calamansi for handwashing. taking our trip back to the main island. bananaboat for free, taking it a stride longer than usual. thanks for cres' connections.
couldn't head to puka beach by boat. so much for the strong winds, humongous waves. took the trike to complete the adventure. puka beach was a personal favorite ^^ conversing with a local kid was so enlightening. beachcombing. wave tripping. swimming with a smash.
late night dinner with that panjabi feel. curries. masalas. lassies. and bloated naans. binging on FIC. i love. so much for the sudden rain, which ruined our mood to party up.
we're dead tired anyway...
disclaimer: thanks to cher and her underwater cam. 75% of these snaps are hers. the "switch" was indeed put to its full use. ^^ |
| | 5th of January 2008 Our grandparents' 67th wedding anniversary. And the family company's 25th anniversary.
Younger Eagles "organized" the event. I hosted impromptu Our artsy-slash-techie cousins showing how AVPs SHOULD be done. Showcasing our "singing prowess" tsk tsk. "ang galing raw namin"
Hired a band who plays 60s music. We thought it was a bad idea. But hey, everyone had soooo much fun! Perfect bonding opportunity with the oldies. We heart it:)
Mikko day. The first time i saw my inaanak. hehe. Again, next time na yung captions okay?
I have a plane to catch :/ |
| | 29th of December 2007 Eagles went on a reunion. And our side of the family was coded in yellow. and declared that the day was "hepa day"
Go ahead. Get sick of the color. and our camwho'ing moments. We got floored! so floored that our grandfather "soaped" us after the whole event. so much for the joyous spirit of the whole occasion. "competition" pala, hindi reunion...tsk tsk.
"puro lang pala kayo porma..." (ah ganon pala ha?)
photos of the THE day, and stuff that happened after. next time na yung captions ha? hahahahaha. i'm so tamad. |
| | This is how we do our holidays:)
"BETTER" peeps. huddled for New Year's Eve. Waiting for the clock to strike 12! Happy New Year! More years of togetherness:)
Fun. Food. Feast. Foto ops. Hanging out till the break of dawn. (morning na actually)
*kax bringing her "boy" to the gathering. tsk tsk. tigas. na-grill ka tuloy. semi.
i miss hanging out with you guys. i'll be back real soon... |
| | Yuletide 2007. Celebrating Christmas like no other. Feels good to be home. Nothing beats quality time with mi familia aguila.
Welcome home, tita emily:) Awww, i sure did miss everyone. and i mean every one.
Creds: 75% of the photos posted in both albums were taken by ayiiii, my three-year old bratty cousin. |
| | Christmas. The Eagles' Way. We've been doing this for as long as i can remember. Practically grew up in a simple yet uber merry merry celebration. And we (always always) drove all the way to Batangas just for that:)
foodfest. endless chisms. photo ops (yup, kahit dati pa!) gift-giving. distributing moolah... rates never changed since. haha. some "members" come and go, but the family's strong. we try to be.
i love familia aguila. i heart the eaglets. i heart the kickass berxies. i heart our "tagay" boys. i heart my titos and titas. i heart lolo and lola. i heart everyone. the new babies and all. yupyup, the family keeps on growing by the year:)
this year was exceptionally blissful. i sure did miss everyone. endless hugs and love all around. >:D< |
| | 15th of september. "ultimate" tambay with familia aguila. jam-packed saturday. last day of training. dinner with xaijua. then this. i was uber pooped. but i couldn't drop tambay with mi familia.
i've had pizza for the umpteenth time. never had this much pizza in a week. fatness. minsan lang to!
so much for "sleepover". my sisters and i (plus lai) were just the ones left. then i literally slept in a snap. oh well.
creds: thanks to pamps. stole these snaps from her. PS: what's our october plan? it's on mai right? OCTOBERFEST na? haha. |
| | "baka latak na naman kami sa mga meet-ups mo ha..."
i flew in back to civ last saturday. and i miraculously, hadn't met any of my friends just yet. it was all about family. didn't do anything, apart from tagging along with them.
come tuesday. got a ring from a familiar voice. they were looking for my big li'l sis. tara, sama kayo. i'm gonna meet her in makati... things are better done unplanned. ang saya ng tripping. food trip. laugh trip. hanggang nauwi sa "bad trip"
awww. i missed these sweeties badly. madi and jenny. our merville tambay days. yung mga plano natin, dapat hindi drawing ha? we should do this more often. right carmel? kakaibang tripping everything's more grown up. pati jokes right? haha. hannahbear, you should tell your sister to join in.
kax was with us, but she left right away. (and didn't come back. tsk tsk.) lai, chong! thanks for joining in. wasak ka na talaga sa HS friends namin and boys, ayos. we should do this. "pwede" naman pala e. pero shell-out naman. haha.
side story: twinx and i saw (some of) our gradeschool batchmates. "saw" is the operative word. how come they look so old.. errr mature? |
| | indeed Familia Aguila is growing bigger and better... we just added a new member to our 50 plus plus clan, Baby Mito:) is such a cute and adorable baby boy. so innocent. sleeps most of the time. and yeah, he's pretty heavy! has the built of a baller, hmmm. promising. sooner or later...he'd be out there to get girls' hearts. talk about fast-paced diba?
i'm just so proud... this family really has a good gene pool. we heart you, BABY MITO!:*
creds: thanks to lai and kax for some of the photos!:) |
| | Alas, my ten-day leave had begun. Thank God that my manager had allowed me this short vacay. I thought I was gonna go cuckoo there at faraway land... hence, this breather.
I miss home. I miss my famille. awww. baby ayiiii. Feels good to be home. and i want to be back here for good.
but when right? ...
(most) photos taken by princess ayiii, the brat. haha. |
| | photos taken by ayeen. so obviously, this is her side of the story.
and yup, we did chase the sunset. only to find out that... it was gonna set gloriously on our way back. so much for perfect timing:( twas a fun weekend! roadtrip and all. |
| | our last stop for our batangas trip. "our great (holy) weekender" spent the rest of the weekend with our relatives in lipa. yipee. i missed them soooo much.
the perks for this "getaway". a sumptuous feast. why?it's my cousin's simple treat. food galore. twas a fun bonding activity. every one helped out in preppin.
i heart you olen. make sure to spend the weekends at home ha. congrats for finishing highschool with flying colors. our family's such brainics! bawal ang lakwatcha. bwahahahaha, like you'd listen to me. have fun in college! green archer. tsk tsk. |
| | this year, we skipped the usual weekend getaway with the eagles. because we didn't EXACTLY plan anything for this year. bummer.
alas, my parents made plans without really consulting us, so i guess it's cool that we tagged along. we went to batangas. what's new? well, i've practically grown in that province simply because both my parents hailed from the said place. BUT it was my first time to actually visit various towns. promise. twas fun. roadtripping and indulging with foood!:)
didn't take loads of photos coz i didn't feel like it. haha. was lazy to bring my lenses wherever. so i guess the ones below would make do.
main stop: Calatagan whereto specifically: Golden Sunset Resort (yup, it's Mother's) sidetrip: Playa Calatagan why: coz i haven't been there and i WANTED to see the place (coz my cousins have been there for the umpteenth time) roadtrip: Nasugbu all the way to Lipa why again: our family friend wanted to visit their relatives at Punta Fuego so we tagged along. clincher: Took the other route, the unfamiliar route, to Lipa. Stopped over at Taal. Old church snapshot. Halt at LomiKing for our usual family-lomi-tripping. Then finally went home to Lipa to join our relatives:) conclusion: My dad loves roadtrips coz this is the only time he gets the family "confined", simply put we rarely do this coz i'm far away. So daddy dearest thought that this was the perfect op! so there.
the end:) |
| | the last leg of our photo ops during tito junie-and-tita beth's wedding.
met a real faaab photographer. he loved our group. (coz we were such camwhores!) later we found out that he was, MR. CHITO VECINA, awesome photojournalist at Philippine Daily Inquirer. man, he was so nice and game. we didn't expect he was that famous!
ang kapal ng mukha namin. we snatched him from the wedding scene just so we could have photo ops and camwhoring moments to ourselves! it's as if we had our private photo session. and we got it all FOR FREE!
haha. we heart tito junie and tita beth for this fab fix. yipppeeee:*
we couldn't really afford to have tito chito. so i guess, our welling gratitude could be enough. :) |
