|  | during our second workday with studio 23, our last destination was this community at faraway land.
we were going to feature mangrove reforestation as means of environmental protection, to our surprise, a rare green sea turtle crossed our path. twas said that this specie(s) is endangered. i'm just grateful that i chanced upon this creature in this lifetime. and in the natural way of things, had photo ops with the cutesy turtle.
and of course, tons of side stories were encapsulated in this album. |
| | "TUHATU": a coined term for tuna (lupa), hangin, tubig. (land, air, water)
is an annual summer camp for children which highlights child protection and environmental conservation.
this year's event was done through a month long celebration. the four-day camp surfaced children's participation. what they can do with the issues that abound in their community. making their collective voices heard, trying their best to stir awareness to make a difference.
the event was covered by studio 23, and snippets of it would be aired at Breakfast on May 14, 2007 @ 630 in the morning (go see it, if you have time!) the whole event ended with a bang through an advocacy concert.
the event was fun, and very much meaningful! twas my first time to get really involved in such an event (not as the participant but as one of the main organizers for the whole thing.) i love the adrenaline rush! feels good. to get involved. trying to influence these young(er) minds.

| | twas a great achievement especially for kuya john to have tapped studio 23 to cover this year's children's summer camp.

TUHATU 2007: with central theme on child protection and environmental preservation. a week-long activity, highlighting the month long celebration of earth month.
this mainly focuses on DAY 2 of the shoot wherein we visited one of the pristine island's here in faraway land. Dio Island is an islet with rock formations, white shores, and stretches of blue waters.. perfect site for snorkeling and scuba diving. twas uber fun! thank God for a sunny day.
was tasked to coordinate with the Breakfast team. went to the waters unguarded. ended the day with redness all over. tough luck! got sunburn the day after. OUCH! but i love it. i heart the beach life. bumming around. i also tried snorkeling, to overcome my fear of depths. twas a good take, i should do that more often.
disclaimer: atom/patty/jc should've been here with us, if only we allowed them to cover on a weekend. tough luck, key events were plotted on weekdays, hence these hosts couldn't come to cover. we discovered locals who could have the potential for hosting. and i bet they loved the experience. good for them!
